    Greetings Long Island bumpkin
    just wanted to say “hi”
My pumpkins live on dashboard of my van
and the center of my table
    Their flesh will soon mingle
when they marry a Hubbard squash cousin
    The orangey glow of autumn
    transformed into pie.

Do “pumpkin porches” happen all over or is that a Northeast thing?

And moose love pumpkins (Anchorage, AK)! We were awakened at 5:00 A.M. this morning to a young moose (probably a yearling) tossing our frozen pumpkins down on to our front porch to break them into pieces, and then eating them. I’m sure he made the neighborhood rounds picking up his “treats.” He left behind a fine mess though!

The moose and pumpkin story is a keeper. The photos and sketch are great. Vivian, you get these ideas and then you actually DO them. Hooray for sharing them with us.
